Principle and Function

The Wamechsi Group Belt Conveyor are transportation solutions design for the inlet works as well as dewatering works of wastewater treatment plants. The conveyors typically transport screenings into a screw compactor or dewatered sludge from the Filter Belt Press, also provided by Wamechsi Group, into waste disposal bins or waste piles. The belt conveyors mainly consists of a belt used as a transportation bus, motor and gearbox to rotate the belt, stainless steel frame for support, conveyor idlers, drive and driven pulleys. The Belt Conveyor are used in configuration of single conveyors to set conveyors to raise waste into waste bins or waste disposal piles.

Advantages of the Wamechsi Group’s Hydro Conveyor:

  • -          Self-Aligning Belt systems are installed on conveyor to keep belt positioned.
  • -          Self-Cleaning belt systems are installed at the end of the conveyor frame to scrape of wet waste.
  • -          Belt Conveyor is designed to run continuously with the belt filter press dewatering equipment.

The Wamechsi Group’s Belt Conveyor consists of the following key parts:

-          Motor & Gearbox

The installation of the electrical motor and gearbox enables the belt conveyor to transport the waste to disposal bins or screw compactor. This is crucial in automating the sewage treatment facility. It is however still required to do regular checkups in order to notice any unusual debris that may influence the effectiveness and/or working of the machine.

-          Belt Conveyor

The belt conveyor (transportation zone) rotates continuously and conveys the screenings through the transportation zone and discharges into the screw compactor or waste bins.

-          Conveyor Frame

The Conveyor Frame is the main structure onto which all the conveyor system is mounted and operates from. The drive and driven pulleys are held in place by the frame, as well as the motor is installed on the frame. The idler sets are installed onto the frame which will support and guide the conveyor belt.

-          Self-Aligning Idlers

The Self-Aligning Idlers are installed onto the conveyor frame. These idlers are responsible to keep the conveyor aligned over the main pulleys, while the other idlers are used to bend the belt to form a moving bucket.

-          Self-Cleaning Scrapper

The Scrapper is typically installed at the end of the conveyor to clean the belt of wet waste as well as discarding the waste into waste bins.
